haha, they won't fit over the brakes!

I think i'll see how these contis hold up for the first few races, then i'll think about getting wheels and tires.

You forget I have the same brakes at you with my the oe RL wheels and 5mm spacers. I think they would fit. A cheap way to get you going considering you already have a set of 17" Bridgestones would be to get a crap set of salvage RL wheels for $50-$75 a piece.

Speaking of brakes...I priced out $850 for brakes and rotors for the car this summer

oh, i know, but is that legal in stock class? also i don't really want to run spacers for autox. seems like asking for trouble.

Like Al said, it's $45 (this includes a weekend membership, i believe) if you don't have a membership, but if you think you're going to be doing more than that one event, you should get a yearly membership. the cost of the weekend membership can be applied to the yearly membership. If you're 24 or younger, it's only $45 for the yearly. members cost for events are $25.

Alright thanks guys! I think it may be cheaper to just do the membership, if I go to at least three of them. does the SCCA do open track day type events too? or is that the kinda thing that Id have to go through waterford or wherever to do open track?

Forgot about the stock class rules. I understand the concern about spacers. Glad I was able to order my new wheels with a 38mm offset.

A lot of soloists run spacers. A perfect example being Alex Jones. He runs 20mm spacers all around so the 315/18's fit the Solstice. Been running that setup for 2 seasons.

It was a Saturn one two last weekend. The car ran flawlessly.

Too bad our only competition was a turbo Honda Del Slow.

Here is a vid of my fastest run.

Corvette club this weekend @ the Caddilac plant. I'll be out there with the 'balt, and you might see me in a lil red miata learning what oversteer is.

$30 for free souls w/ a helmet. Anyone wanting seat time with minimal cost, this would seem like a good run.
