Mod ideas

So the bike has like 400 miles on it and im already getting the itch to modify it. Heres what I was planning:
Gut the cat, but where is the cat usually located on a bike? Is it in the muffler?
BMC high flow air filter and air box baffle removal, K&N doesnt make an air filter for the 650R.
Power Command V for tunning, factory tune is for 87 octane so im sure there is some timing to advance and the Power Command has an auto tune feature that will constantly tune the engine to a specific AF ratio.
But since this is my first bike I am not really too sure what else there is to do, i know its common to get mufflers, but i really like the look of the stock muffler, really matches the bike well and is a cool hidden away spot.
Stock the bike makes 72HP at the crank, I would like to get it to somewhere around 80HP with those mods.
Future Ideas
...turbo...there appears to be enough room in front of the engine for a small turbo, but im gonna have to do a lot of research on what the motor can take and how do able it is, definitely in the distant future.

id get used to riding it, get used to having it, then upgrade to a 1000+cc bike later on. that way ur not dumping all this cash to make a bike just as fast or not as fast as a 1000+cc bike.
or spend the money that your going to use on modding the bike and make ur heepojeep the best heep out there. lift kit and good snow tires!

nope, the jeep is staying stock, maybe some off roadish tires come fall, but thats it. I dont want to buy a 1000 CC bike, I want to make my bike faster than what it already is, thats all. I could say the same thing for every poor schmuck here who has dumped thousands of dollars in a GM plastic econobox car. The mods i had listed where literally under 400 dollars total, so its not like i would be putting a whole lot into it. A turbo kit would be a bit more, but not really that much more. I could run low boost and tune it for 93 octane and not run an intercooler, i doubt a tiny turbo like what would go on a bike would be all that expensive, the most expensive part would be the exhaust manifold, but i have a friend who is an automobile fabricator, so i think i could have him design and build it for a decent price. The power commander v will already have a wideband sensor and tunning abilities for it, ill need to plum some kind of intake manifold and tap the oil feed and return lines. I dont think it would really be that hard.

That's crazy that your bike only puts out 72hp to the crank Jason. Here's the stats on mine
99.6 kW (133.6 hp) @ 14,500 rpm with direct air induction

Its only a sport bike. Runs the 1/4 mile in high 11's at 108-110MPH. The motor is extremly torquey down low, hence the ridiculously low trap speed. I can spin the rear tire in first.

Man my 2000 HarleyFatboy only has 72hp 89tq to the wheel after a two into one exhaust and carb needles and and k&n filter. Stock was like 68hp and 82tq. I could put a big bore kit on( new carb, bigger pistons and jugs) andmake 99hp to the wheel but it's like a $1000 upgrade and burns through gas more. We will have to see now since I have a 5 month old and the harley is paid off and I don't want a new payment on a bike. The new bikes at 96cubic inch and make lik 85hp to the wheel unless you get a CVO that's 110cubic inch motor. about 125hp to the wheel. I just like riding it at this point.
