http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

Thats how i broke in my engine for the most part on my cobalt, never babied it during break in period, red lined it everytime i drove it.  At 36k miles we did a compression test on the motor and was 190-210 across the board, which is really good.  Average is 160-180.  I broke my bike in the same way, glad i did now.

I did mine the same way. It's like what break in period, it's get to. If it is going to break it might as well break right off of the back.

That web page actually has a lot of good and interesting motor information.  If you sign up for the news letter you get access to a bunch of other articles.  One that really caught my eye was how he was gaining 8-10% HP by de-porting his head.  Apparently he found that there are whats called dead spots in the head designs, this is a point where the design and flow are not ideal, basically using a flow bench he put molding clay into the head, by trial and error he found where he could put clay that didnt restrict the flow of the head, but did increase the velocity, and as we all know velocity = Mid Range TQ

Yeah I wouldnt go instantly ragging on it really, but I would run it through its Full rev range several times, at different speeds... so more or less my thinking was on par with their results (somewhat) cool!
